We are seeking a Mortgage Loan Closer to join our team!

Guardian Mortgage, a fast-growing, Dallas headquartered mortgage banker with a mortgage legacy that spans over 52 years and 200,000+ transactions is expanding its market share by adding experienced Professional salespeople to originate residential mortgage loans in Texas, Michigan, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.

Loan Closer coordinate all the steps of the loan closing, arriving at detailed and accurate financial numbers for borrowers and readying documents by organizing, checking and completing closing files. The Closer provides Guardian Mortgage customers with a smooth, timely and compliant closing for their home.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Documentation (Preparation and Review) –Produce, collect and organize closing documents for each closing file. Review each closing file to verify documents are present, accurate, accurately calculated, compliant and sufficiently complete for closing. Ensure closing conditions have been met.
  • Communication (Internal and External) – Work with Guardian employees, executives and business partners (title company, etc.) to schedule loan closing in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. Inform LO’s of any funding conditions expected prior to funding.
  • Computer Skills – Use a variety of computer programs and applications for document production, organization, research, communications and other assorted tasks.
  • Deadlines – Consistently hit ongoing deadlines regarding closing, verification, watch for expiring locks, etc.
  • Compliance – Meet rules, obligations, timelines, and deadlines to comply with company policy, contracts, investor guidelines, lending programs, and state and federal law and regulation. Knowledge of FHA, VA and Conventional loan programs as well as RESPA will be required.

Job Competencies/Experience:

JOB SUMMARY

An Underwriter renders a final decision (approval, disapproval, approval with conditions) for mortgage loan applications in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. An Underwriter reviews loan applications based on factors such as capacity, credit history, capital, and collateral in compliance with company policy, contracts, investor guidelines, lending programs and state and federal law and regulation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Underwriting Decisions – Render a final underwriting decision (approved, suspend, denied) for mortgage loan applications based on factors such as capacity, credit history, capital and collateral. Master underwriting rules from multiple sources and apply them accurately and consistently to individual loan applications. Formulate approval conditions, as appropriate.
  2. Documentation (Review and Verification) – Review each loan file to verify documents are present, accurate, accurately calculated, compliant and sufficiently complete for an underwriting decision. Review and reach an underwriting decision on the appraisal.
  3. Communication (Internal) – Accurately answer questions from and educate loan officers, loan processors, and other appropriate personnel about underwriting rules and how they apply to individual loan applications. Review and answer loan scenario questions from loan officers.
  4. Computer Skills – Perform necessary computer-based functions for both internal and external IT systems. Conduct online research. Prefer ability to underwrite in a paperless environment.
  5. Deadlines – Consistently hit ongoing tight deadlines with regard to underwriting, closing, etc.
  6. Compliance – Meet rules, obligations, timelines, and deadlines to comply with company policy, contracts, investor guidelines, lending programs and state and federal law and regulation.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) approved.
  • Veterans Administration (VA) Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) preferred but not required.

The Account Executive is responsible for developing and managing the sales of correspondent clients in their region. The Account Executive must possess a general knowledge of loan products and guidelines and be able to demonstrate an understanding of mortgage lending in order to develop client relationships.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Seeks to cultivate new correspondent partnerships.
  2. Take applications from potential correspondent lenders, processes and submits for approval.
  3. Responsible for ensuring new correspondent on-boarding training is performed appropriately and timely.
  4. Communicates with Client Support Specialist or Operations team member regarding correspondent issues/complaints, escalating questions for assistance as needed.
  5. Consistently demonstrate a professional, positive and helpful attitude in all interaction with clients and team members.
  6. Exemplify the customer service and support expectations of the correspondent lending division.
  7. Services current correspondent client partnerships by introducing new loan programs, training and coordination of all fulfillment functions
  8. Ensures that the requirements and procedures of the division are upheld.
  9. Communicate GMC performance to correspondents.
  10. Responsible for overall growth in assigned territory.
  11. Works close with Account Manager (inside sales) to build a partnership with new and current correspondents.
  12. Engages in conducting sales-related activities to maintain and grow volume in assigned territory including but not limited to on-site correspondent visits, cold calls, marketing communications, etc.
  13. Responsible for assisting the division in ensuring correspondent obligations are met, including obtaining outstanding final loan docs from correspondent, required lock pull through is maintained, outstanding fees are collected, and required documentation for recertification is received timely.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
