New Year Marketing Checklist
It’s hard to believe that we are already a few days into 2020. Busy days make time fly by. And we certainly hope 2019 was a productive and successful year for you. While you may be reflecting on your accomplishments of 2019, now is also the time to prepare for an even better year ahead.
For most real estate professionals, success starts with marketing. And the new year is the right time to assess what’s working for you, what’s not, and where you can improve. So, we’ll cover a few areas that’ll help make sure you’re ready for the market to heat up this spring.
This includes business cards, brochures, flyers and other printed marketing materials. These materials are important to have for networking and other promotions of your business. Are you fully stocked? Is your messaging current? Maybe it’s time for a refresh or redesign. Whatever you feel is necessary, the important thing is to make sure you have what you need to get off to a hot start in 2020.
These days, your digital presence is more important than ever. And it’s easy for your brand or business to appear fractured with your information spread across so many platforms. So, make sure you do some housekeeping on your website, social media pages and other affiliate sites to ensure your info is up-to-date across the board. Being online makes it’s easy for people to find you but you want to be sure they get the correct information and have a seamless experience no matter how they find you.
Have you checked your email campaign settings recently? Make sure you’re still running targeted campaigns for current and prospective clients. It’s also important to ensure your contact info, signature, etc. are up-to-date on everything you’re sending out.
More Marketing Budget?
Think about adding a little more money to your marketing budget to test new tactics. While there are numerous marketing ideas to try, one that we highly recommend is creating video testimonials and using a small budget for advertising to share them online. A little extra marketing effort could have a positive impact on your 2020 sales.
Mining Your Data
It’s easy to overlook the basic things like a customer database or your referral network. But these items are always going to be crucial to your success. So make sure they are up-to-date and that you’re reaching out to your contacts on a regular basis. Good data is important in this business, do a spring-cleaning on your lists early this year. Make sure that you have the connections and contacts that you need. Do you partner with a lender? Because we know a good one.
This is in no way a complete list, but we believe it’s a good starting point to kick off your 2020 marketing efforts. The important thing for transitioning to a new year is to make sure you’re staying true to your process while adding incremental changes. You’re in tune with your business and clients, you know what’s working and what’s not. Stick with what works for you and see where you can expand your efforts. As the new year leads to spring, your marketing strategies will be ready for the market to heat up once again.
Happy New Year and best of luck in 2020 from all of us here at Guardian Mortgage!
